Course Title: Treatment of Stroke with Tung acupuncture Instructor: Ivan Zavala Number of classes: 1 (3-4 hours) Language: English Date: September 16, 2024, from 7pm-10pm Lisbon / London time (GMT+1) Location: Zoom Live course + class recording Minimum number required of enrolled students: 15 Presentation: Cerebrovascular accident or stroke is a condition that Chinese medicine has focused on understanding for over 2000 years. The suddenness of it, and the underlying pathomechanisms that precede such a life-changing medical event has garnered great medical discussion to illuminate this life-and-death situation. Within the lineage of Tung acupuncture exist various strategies to treat stroke and its sequela, after all, Master Tung himself became renown after his succesful post-stroke treatment of Cambodian president, Lon Nol. Instructor: Ivan Zavala is the founder of Cloudgate Acupuncture and specializes in autoimmune disease and internal medicine. He was the Department Head of Foundational Theory and Advanced Diagnostics and professor at Chicago College of Oriental Medicine, where he developed and taught several foundational classes and advanced herbalism and acupuncture methodologies and diagnostics. Ivan is also an international lecturer in Latin America and Europe, where he teaches Shang Han Za Bing Lun and Classical acupuncture. As a practitioner and professor of Chinese medicine, his interests lie in treating severe and complex disease with direct insight and guidance from the Chinese medical classics. Over the years, he has answered thousands of clinical and medical literature questions of practitioners from around the world, becoming a specialist in the illumination of the canonical corpus into practical application. Program: - Historical outline of stroke and the various pathomechanisms involved - Pulse and tongue diagnosis in the differentiation of stroke and post-stroke sequelae - Tung and Orthodox acupuncture treatment strategies and explanations of treatment methods Certification: At the end of the course, a training certificate will be issued with the number of hours spent, if the student attended at least 80% of the live classes. This course will be recorded and you will have lifetime access to it. In order to access the recordings you only need to have a YouTube account. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy In accordance with the provisions of Article 17 of Decree-Law No. 24/2014, the customer has until the application deadline to resolve the contract without payment of compensation and without the need to indicate the reason. Global Branches reserves the right to cancel or change the dates of the courses and other events, whenever they do not have the minimum required participants or because of an instructor's impossibility (reasons of greater force). Whenever there is an event cancellation or a change in the event’s date, the trainee shall be entitled to receive the amount charged for the training in question or the credit to be discounted in training or content made available by Global Branches. In the impossibility of the trainee to be able to participate in the training, he will have to notify the Global Branches formally, until the start of the training. Cancellations received after the application deadline (7 days before the start of the course) do not entitle the trainee to any return or exchange. The course withdrawals do not entitle the trainee to any refund of the registration payment.
